FAQs
  • What is Islam Box?
  • Islam Box is the new and exciting way to watch Islamic Television without purchasing and installing satellite dishes. Islam Box uses your existing broadband connection to show Islamic and educational Channels from around the world. Islamic Television has become an integral part of Muslim life; especially with so many inappropriate channels present on normal television. Muslims from all over the world can now view Islam Channel from UK, Peace TV from India, Saudi 1 and Saudi 2 from Saudi Arabia, Huda TV from Egypt, QTV from Pakistan, Bridges TV from US with the help of Islam Box.
  • Why do I have to pay for the Islam Box?
  • Islam Box Set Top Box (STB) uses very advanced technology to deliver TV and Radio stations from around the world to your Television Set through your internet connection. Islam Box (STB) is almost a standalone computer which has the capability to do much more than just delivering TV and Radio channels, inshAllah we will provide all those services through Islam Box gradually. We are supplying Islam Box (STB) to our viewers on a cost to cost basis so a maximum number of people can afford to buy it. After purchasing the Islam Box it is yours to keep.
  • Why do I have to pay for a monthly subscription of Islam Box?
  • Unlike conventional ways of delivering TV channels to your home TV through Satellite or Cable, Islam Box uses your internet connection to deliver all these contents. Every time you will connect to our servers to watch a TV or Radio channel, we will have to allocate a certain amount of bandwidth dedicated to your particular session which would cost us every time you connect. Since the quality of channels on Islam Box is almost TV quality, we have to allocate a huge amount of bandwidth to each viewer which runs into a huge amount of bandwidth cost on our side.Ideally we would like to offer Islam Box without a subscription, however, due to the huge costs we must charge each member of Islam Box. We will continue to keep Islam Box (low bandwidth version) free for all to view on the internet.
  • How do I get Islam Box?
  • Ordering the Islam Box (STB) is quick and easy. Click here to purchase the Islam Box (STB), you will first need to register, in order to proceed. After registering members must press the submit button in order to receive an activation email which will be sent to your email address. You will then need to click on the activation link provided in the email sent by Islam Box, you will then be taken to a page where you can place an order. At this point your order is at a request stage and once we will approve your order, you will receive an email from us asking to pay for the order you have placed with Islam Box. You will have two choices, either you can make a payment online or if you prefer you can also send us a check by post for the total amount. At this point we can only receive checks which can be withdrawn into UK or US bank accounts.
  • What are the requirements for Islam Box (STB) to work?
  • All members of Islam Box must have a minimum internet speed of 750kpbs – 1000kmpbs. If you are not sure about your internet speed, please click here to check your download speed. In order to check your internet speed through this website you should have flash installed on your computer. Once you are on the home page of Speed Test, you will see pyramid shapes spread across the map of your continent, please click on the orange colour pyramid, which will give you download and upload speed. If it shows that you have above 750kbps download speed then you have met the minimum bandwidth requirement for Islam Box (STB). If you do not have the minimum required bandwidth please contact your service provider to upgrade your internet speed. You should have a TV set with a composite (Red, Yellow, White) connector at the back of your TV Set in order to connect Islam Box (STB) to your TV Set. If you are not sure about composite cable or connecter, please click here to see the picture. The Islam Box Set Top Box (STB) comes with a RJ45 Ethernet port. This needs to be connected directly to your broadband router. If your router is far away from the place of the TV, you need to run a cable long enough to connect it. The neater and easier solution is to buy Powerline HomePlugs to connect the Islam Box STB to the router. You need two of them preferably from the same brand. One should be connected to the router via RJ45 cable and connected to the power socket and the other should be placed near the Islam Box STB, connected to the power and to Islam Box STB via RJ45 cable. The Homeplugs have a working range of 100 meters and only will work in a single phase, single circuit power line system in your house or apartment. Please check these before buying them. HomePlug
